Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Same question every time: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
No. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code won't affect it.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Simple as that.
How much bonus do you receive?
A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Top tier is $14,000 on deposits over $100,000. Not many traders reach that level.
UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
Minimum to open an account is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
Where to enter the code
Registration page. After you enter your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Finish signing up. Contact support before funding. Ask them to add code 128979. Standard practice for them.
There's a catch with the bonus
You need to trade a certain volume.
Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
Your deposit is yours. Take it out anytime. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
One thing worth knowing: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. You can hold larger positions than your deposit alone would allow. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
